This page explains the current privacy design of the NEST public website and its protected instructional program areas. It is intended as a plain-language operational notice and can be expanded as NEST adds enrollment, payment, parent accounts, or other public-facing features.
Public website
The public NEST homepage is informational. It does not currently ask families or children to enter student assessment results, lesson data, or other student records.
Protected program areas
The Pre-K Foundational Readiness and Main Reading Intervention programs are separate protected application areas. Authorized users may enter student information needed to provide literacy services, such as a student display name, assessment or placement information, lesson progress, mastery information, and instructional history.
How information is used
Student information entered into a protected program area is used to provide, track, and improve the child’s literacy instruction, including placement, lesson planning, progress monitoring, remediation, and instructional next-step decisions.
Service providers
NEST uses third-party technology providers to host website and application content and to store application data. Access to protected instructional data is designed to require authorized sign-in and role-based permissions.
Data minimization
NEST should collect only the information reasonably needed to provide literacy services and operate the instructional programs. Public pages are kept separate from student-data entry screens.
Children’s information
Because NEST provides services for children, child information should be supplied and managed through the parent/guardian service relationship and protected program workflow rather than through an open public form. Additional parent-facing privacy and enrollment language can be added before NEST offers self-service child accounts or direct online enrollment.
Questions and updates
This notice will be updated as NEST adds public enrollment, payments, parent accounts, or other features that change how information is collected or used.
